Rosana Chan

Rosana commenced her double degree at Griffith University in 1998 where she studied Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Arts (International Studies). In 2000, Rosana commenced her article clerkship with a national firm, specialising in CTP and property damage. She was offered a scholarship to China where she was approached by the Dean of Law to teach common law and contract law at Beijing University. Rosana took on this role for 2 years before returning to Australia to complete her double degree. She completed her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice in 2006 at the Queensland College of Law, whilst working for a national firm, where she focused on defendant personal injury / insurance work. She also completed her Master of Laws in 2009, majoring in Civil Litigation and Intellectual Property Law at the University of Queensland.  

Since Rosana’s admission in 2007, she has worked in various global and national law firms, particularly in workers’ compensation, public liability, products liability, property damage, dependency actions, pure psychiatric injuries, CTP and aviation claims. She also worked as an inhouse Counsel for WorkCover. Her experience ranges from pre court proceedings, working on appeals to the Regulator, attending trials at the QIRC and preparing matters for litigation in the District, Supreme and Federal Courts.

Rosana is a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia.    

Rosana is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin and English.

 

Eduardo Cruz

Eduardo was admitted as a solicitor in 2004 and have worked exclusively with a culturally diverse client base since 2002 predominantly in personal injuries compensation. He graduated from Masters of Laws in 2012 majoring in Public and International Law.

Eduardo has been on the Queensland Law Society’s Tort Law Committee since 2017. He is actively engaged in procedural and legislative reforms across motor vehicle accident insurance, workers’ compensation, public liability insurance and historical sexual abuse claims.

Prior to joining CZ Injury Law, Eduardo was a Principal in a Brisbane based law firm, heading the personal injury team. He also worked at WorkCover Queensland leading a team of solicitors in the defence of workplace accident claims on behalf of employers.

Eduardo’s extensive 20 years’ experience both in defendant and plaintiff personal injuries has moulded him into a versatile and resourceful professional.

Eduardo is fluent in English and Spanish.

 

Marisol Tobon

Marisol is a Senior Associate at CZ Injury Law, with law degrees from Colombia and Australia. With a solid track record, Marisol specialises in representing plaintiffs in various personal injury cases, including public liability, compulsory third party, and workers' compensation claims. Marisol is experienced in managing claims from lodgement of notice of claims to litigated proceedings.

In addition to personal injury law, Marisol has experience in commercial law in both Colombia and Australia and understands migration law through her personal experience of becoming a permanent resident in Australia.

Marisol's combination of legal expertise and cultural insight provides a keen understanding of the practical challenges faced by migrants in personal injury claims, including cultural and language barriers. This perspective empowers Marisol to identify solutions, ensuring that clients overcome these obstacles and achieve optimal outcomes.

Fluent in both Spanish and English, Marisol seamlessly bridges linguistic gaps, fostering clear communication and understanding with a diverse clientele.

 

Carlen Lowe

Carlen graduated from QUT in 2002 with a Bachelor of Law and was admitted as a solicitor in 2003. His legal experience spans over 21 years, solely in personal injuries compensation law. He has worked in various national law firms and government bodies, defending complex multi party personal injury claims.

Carlen has in depth experience with CTP claims and workplace injury claims with a particular interest in stress and bullying. Carlen also worked as an in house lawyer for WorkCover QLD for a number of years managing workers’ compensation claims and has provided comprehensive advice to clients during the statutory and common law claims process.

He also has extensive experience with the provision of strategic advice during pre court proceedings and during litigation.

Prior to joining CZ Injury Law, Carlen worked as a Principal Lawyer within the legal sector of a government organisation, defending claims for workplace psychiatric injuries.

 

Abigail Fania

Paralegal

Abigail started her career path in property law in 2002, mainly focusing on conveyancing. She later progressed this line of work at a financial institution and after a few years in this field, she had the opportunity to work in the personal injury space as a secretary and later a paralegal.

During the years that she worked as a paralegal, Abigail gained comprehensive insight and a wide range of experience working in various national law firms. Her experience spans from pre court proceedings in compulsory third party and public liability claims to the litigated phase.

Abigail demonstrates dedication and commitment in her work and provides respect and professionalism towards clients.  

She has family from various cultural backgrounds. Her immediate family are from Australia, Philippines and Samoa.
